That's all folks!

It's May 27th and the last day of my internship.. Can't believe it! After all time here went really fast learning all the new things, meeting new people and seeing different places.
Last days at work have been pretty calm, so I've had time to prepare my departure from Fuengirola.
It still feels unreal that only in a couple if days I'll be done with my studies in Helmi..
I already got a summer job from Italy and can't wait what the future holds for me in that regard!!

So, I guess I'ts time say goodbye to this blog.. My advice for those who think about doing internship abroad, do it!! It gives you some much more than staying home.

Hasta la vista!! 😊

Mayday mayday, time's running out..

It's the 9th of May and I'm starting to get used to the thought that soon everything in my life is going to change again.. Work, country, home, language, daily routines etc... Soon this 5-month internship will be over and I'll be graduating from Helmi Liiketalousopisto. Gotta say this two-year study in Helmi Business College has gone so freaking fast!

At work everything keeps going very well. I've been booking alot of flights and daytrips recently and done alot of bookkeeping. I'm also finally not freezing in the office anymore (there was practically no heating at all in the "winter" so it was pretty chilly)! So pleased to finally put away (directly into the luggage) my Uggs and my woole sweater :D

In the past two weeks the weather here has changed from warm to really hot.. The average temperature for this week so far is 27 degrees.. With a lovely sea breeze blowing, laying at the beach is like heaven to me!  Totally the biggest pro of completing this internship abroad :D Living 30 meters from the beach and the sea is one thing I'm going to miss soooo much..

Talk to you soon again!!

Hasta pronto!

The beginning of the end..

So, we’re in the end of April and I only have a month left here. Even got my evaluation scores last week; the best grades I could hope for :) Since everything has gone very well at work, I kind of expected good grades, but I still was a little surprised of my advisors’ words… I mean positive words :D

During the last two weeks we’ve had less work to do at the office. This is the period that usually is pretty calm here, ‘cause the majority of the Finns that live have already travelled to Finland for the spring and summer period. Even the streets and shops are quieter and, unbelievably, you can hear people talking Spanish more than Finnish, English or German! They say that in the beginning of June it will get more crowded again, when the schools close for the summer break and tourists and families come here for vacation.

This week is going to be short since Friday is the celebration of first of May. I’m going to fly to Italy again on Friday, for the first time going to take a straight flight from Malaga to Bologna with Ryanair... I’ll be home in only a couple of hours, sweet!! Going there also ‘cause on Friday is my boyfriend’s birthday. To celebrate his BD we are going to head to the sea close to Rimini for the weekend… Staying with and meeting my loved ones, eating good food, enjoying the Italian sea… caaaan’t wait!

Also going to have a job interview in Bologna on Monday morning… wish me luck :D We’ll see..

Ciao ciao!!

Hola guapos!!

Easter holidays went past soo fast I can't believe it!! It was so amazing having my boyfriend here.. The weather was perfect as we hung out at the beach and ate at the beautiful beach restaurants.

How am I doing at work? At work everything is good. I have started to enjoy my daily routine and the tasks that my days at the office consist of. Talking with clients and helping them is something that I really like. For me, the only real downer of this kind of a work is sitting the whole day at the office..  At the beginning of this internship it was very difficult for me to get used to sitting in front of the computer ALL day long.. After a little while I realized that I can adapt to the the sitting part if I work out in the morning before going to work :D So I started running.. Now I'm running almost every morning before work. It's actually a pleasure now to arrive at the office and sit down and stay still!! It's funny how the whole day goes past alot faster after working out in the morning.

When I think about the end of May and the end of my internship I'm both glad and sad.. Can't wait to get out and get a "real" job in the tourism industry, but at the same time have loved being here, meeting so many new people and seeing new breathtaking places. On the other hand.. I'm missing my home in Italy sooo much that only thinking about returning there after 2 years spent in Finland and here makes me smile :)

This week I'm already going to turn in my personal evaluations so that next week I can get my internship "grades" from my advisors (my two bosses) here..

That's all for now.. Talk to you again soon!

This year's painted Easter "eggs" ;)

'O sole mio..

It's the last sunday of March.. I'm sitting in the sun and writing here again.. Can't believe it's 29degrees in the end of March. Well, on the other hand, Fuengirola is closer to Africa than Barcelona for example :D No wonder it's so hot! This is propably the best period here from my point of view.. Not too many tourists yet, and most of Finns are getting ready to leave Spain and return to Finland for the summer. We've sold a punch of tickets to people who go back to Finland now and return here in September. If I were them, I would stay here for another while (just looked at the weather forecast for Finland) :D It's not like there are no tourists here now.. Even right now there are some red sun burned Brits passing by.. With those "Folke West-sunhats" and crocs on their feet!! How attractive!

This week is the Easter week, which I'm super ecxited for; A short week at work (here Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are the official days off) and on friday my boyfriend will fly here from Italy. So it's literally gonna be a Good Friday for me!!

Saturday for me is a working day though, 'cause I'm going to go on an excursion that my travelling agency has been organizing for. It's an Easter Theatre in Riogordo, called "el Paseo de Riogordo" . It is an annual religious theatrical performance presented by the citizens of a small village called Riogordo. My boyfriend will ofcourse join me in the excursion, it's going to be as fun as a day with old religious Finns can be :D Luckilly it's outside and the weather forecasts are very positive for the weekend.  I will be the guide's "helper" and make sure all the Finns get on and off the bus and to the Theatre safely :D

That's all folks,

talk to you soon again!

Ciaociao
